Here's 6 Yummy Dishes From Tortellini To Chicken Tikka We Sampled @ SXVIII In Radisson Blu MBD

Bookmark

Nestled in the heart of Radisson Blu MBD, Noida, this monarchical restaurant is spread over more than 50% of the ground area of the hotel where the décor is reminiscent of a French palace. However, the food served here doesn’t adhere to any particular regions cuisine.

With a very sophisticated façade, this all day brasserie has been given an archaic look all over with a mix of Eastern and Western cuisines on offer, on both their buffets and a la carte menu. We loved the fact that a separate place had been demarcated for private gatherings which can accomodate approx. 30 people conveniently.

At the buffet table, one may ask for their own choice of pasta or pizza or even tell the servers how they would like their eggs - battered, scrambled, or boiled which are served with either chicken sausages, or bacon or ham or even pork sausages! The beauty of SXVIII is that there’s no paucity of choice, from Japan (sushi) to Italy (tortellini), every major region is represented here!

Still in awe of this place and stupefied by the look, we ended up devouring the following:

1. Veg Spring Rolls

Finely chopped onions, cabbage and capsicum blended in a distinct combo of spices along with a hint of cottage cheese formed the filling of these rolls! The rolls had a magnificent crisp on the outside and despite being deep fried, hardly left any traces of oil. A hearty thumbs up to SXVIII for this!

2. Oatmeal Crusted Cottage Cheese Stick

Deceived by the unadorned look of the dish, we were in for a surprise when we scooped in the cheese sticks with the mint chutney served alongside the dish. Being deep fried, it had a nice crisp of crushed oatmeal on the outside and diced soft and squishy cottage cheese on the inside making it an astounding combo to devour!

3. Chicken Tikka

We were truly in for a treat when six humongous pieces of juicy chicken chunks, roasted to perfection were presented to us along with a portion of diced caramelised onions and mint chutney. The chicken was succulent, tender and juicy and had imbibed the soul of spices used in its marination to the core!
Every bite was a trip to heaven with the essence of spices playing their respective parts and augmenting the overall flavour of the dish. We loved how the chicken chunks were garnished with a dash of cream and coriander before being served to us!

4. Fish N Chips

Upon the chef’s recommendation, we ordered this dish where we were served batter fried fish fillets along with potato wedges, tartar sauce and cheesy, mushy corn. We loved the mushy corn served alongside, which were essentially sweet corn boiled to perfection and sautéed with cottage cheese in salt and pepper. This dish a must-have here for sure!

5. Spinaci e Ricotta Tortellini

Homemade tortellini stuffed with minced spinach, ricotta cheese and butter sauce was served on a bed of pumpkin puree before being served to us. The tortellini was evenly boiled and with the presence of spinach and cheese, the pasta had absorbed the flavour of its filling which made it all the more delicious!

6. Parmesan Chicken

The highlight of the evening was this dish whose aroma itself was enough to make us drool all over it! A hearty chicken breast was fried in butter in a skillet and heated in spaghetti sauce before being topped with mozzarella slices and sprinkles of parmesan.
The sauce had a piquant flavour which formed the core of the dish. Served with sautéed veggies and pickled mushroom buttons and baby potatoes, we were head over heels in love with this one!

All in all, the place treated us like royalty and the food is undoubtedly scrumptious and leaves one satisfied to the core. We’re going back ASAP - how ‘bout you?!
