Here're The Things To Keep In Mind If You're Taking The Metro On Independence Day

Bookmark

Hey, Delhizens! With Independence Day just around the corner, here are some things y’all need to keep in mind if you’re planning on taking the metro on 15th August. Read on and make your plans accordingly!

Here’s What’s happening | We guess you’ve already figured out that the DMRC has added an extra layer of security checks before you enter the metro stations, and, from 14th of August onwards, you guys will not be able to park your cars or bikes at the metro stations’ parking lots. Parking facilities will not be available from 6 AM on the 14th of August. However, from 2 PM onwards on the 15th of August, you can park your vehicles.

There won’t be any major disruption in the working of the metro, but some entry or exit gates, like those of Lal Quila, ITO, Delhi Gate and Jama Masjid will remain shut for security reasons on the morning of Independence Day. Also, metro services between Indraprastha and Mandi House might remain suspended until the Independence Day event at the Red Fort is over.

Okay, moving from the essentials to the fun facts. Did you know that Delhi Metro has started a special Freedom Express train as a tribute to all our fearless freedom fighters? The train carries pictures of all the prominent freedom fighters that fought for the country’s independence. That’s a really great initiative, isn’t it?!

So guys, make sure you keep all these pointers in mind when you travel on the 14th and 15th of August - a happy Independence Day in advance to y’all!
