7 Useful Online Tools That Make It Easier To Find A Vaccination Centre Near You

Bookmark

Starting 1st May, the largest chunk of the Indian population, everyone above the age of 18 years, became eligible for receiving the COVID-19 vaccine. Eager to put an end to this evil virus, and protect ourselves, we were super excited to get vaccinated at the earliest!

However, our excitement was short-lived, as owing to the limited availability, a lot of confusion and chaos followed, people complaining about the unavailability of slots on the Co-Win app, making it challenging to get a slot booked for the vaccine. We request y’all to sit tight and don’t panic ‘cause there are some tools and links, other than the Co-Win app, where you can check the availability of slots and centres, nearest to your house so that you can get yourself vaccinated at the earliest.

1. MyGov Corona Helpdesk Chatbot On WhatsApp

Last year, a WhatsApp bot was launched along with MyGov - a digital portal to get information about government services and information related to the Coronavirus Pandemic. The same bot can be used to find out information about vaccination centres. All you have to do is, text “Namaste” or “Hi” to +91 9013 151 515 on WhatsApp. Once the bot responds with the menu, press 1, which is the key for finding info about COVID vaccination centres and authentic info about vaccines. Press 1 again to find the details of the centre. On typing the six-digit pin code of the area, the bot will respond with the nearest centres, along with slots available and the age limit applicable for that centre. Once you find the info about the vaccination centre, you can log in to the Co-Win website to book your slot to get the vaccine dose.

The vaccine tracker tool on the Facebook India mobile app is available in 17 languages and will allow users to find the nearest vaccine centre locations and their hours of operation as shared by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW). The vaccine finder tool shows walk-in options (for people above 45 years of age) and a link to register on the Co-Win website and schedule vaccination appointments as well. Users can also access the tool in the COVID-19 Information Centre. It will help people identify places nearby to get the vaccine.
