Hello From New York: Kate Spade's Spring Summer Collection @ Select Has Stolen Our Hearts!

“Quick and curious and playful and strong”, going by this motto, Kate Spade, exclusively from New York, made their presence felt in the most buoyant market in the world. Honored as ‘Best Accessory Designer of the Year’, Kate Spade handbags were also exhibited at the Cooper Hewitt Museum for the first national design triennial, celebrating American design excellence. Their home collection won three design awards, including House Beautiful's ‘Giants of Design Award for Tastemaker’, Bon Appetit's ‘American Food and Entertaining Award for Designer of the Year’ and Elle Decor's ‘Elle Decor International Design Award for Bedding’.
 
KS is basically the story of a young girl born and brought up in New York, who travels to various countries and exhibits her work (sounds just like your dream job doesn't it?!). This time, her stop-over is in India and going by the designs and variants brought here, she’s definitely here to stay. Being the curious fashionholics that we are, we lined up to check out her Spring Summer Collection first thing, obv. So let’s see what Ms. Kate has in store for us. Come along!

Will You Look At The Gorgeous Collection!

Thanks to Ms. Spade, we now have access to a pristine range of handbags, clothing, shoes, jewellery, other assorted accessories, a Kids’ Segment and a Gift Segment (nice!). On top of it all, they also had a separate segment for home accessories. As we entered the store, we were assailed by an invigorating range of clothing and other accessories lined up giving us a new high as we scrolled through them. These were then succeeded by a fine range of mobile covers and stupefying dresses and some ravishing, artistic and exquisite jewellery pieces which finally led us to the heavenly and gorgeous handbags that adorned the walls of the showroom.

Everything in the store was strategically placed and going by a quote on their wall, we actually got ‘Carried Away’! While scavenging through the handbags section, we were amazed to witness their awesome collection and the fact that they had every genre of handbag we adore up on the wall. Be it a satchel, shoulder bag, totes, cross body bags, diaper bags or even clutches, they had it all! We also particularly liked their collection of travel bags and backpacks. Though what stunned us and left us bewildered was their Cameron street collection, which is definitely something to splurge on! And if you think the bag doesn’t show the true ‘You’, they have a personalization section, where one can personalize bags with bag stickers, monograms, or even modify/add straps (seriously!).

They’ve Even Got Hostess Gifts Y’All

When it comes to gifting, KS made sure that no one goes empty handed. In their kitty, they have gifts that show you care (a LOT). They have a perfect gifting range for the hostess, for your BFF bride, for the bridesmaids (nice touch), for the newly-graduated, gifts under Rs 5k and to celebrate the various occasions, a seasonal gifting segment is also available for its patrons. Cool!

Dresses. So Many Pretty Dresses (OMG)

Let us give you some jitters by introducing you to their range of dresses. They have dresses to wear to work, evening dresses, day dresses and even bridal dresses! They also showcase skirts, jackets and outerwear, sweaters, pants, jumpsuits, tops and swimwear PLUS sleepwear. Along with dresses, they have a range of complementing footwear showcasing heels, flats, sandals, wedges and even sneakers. But hey, why should adults have all the fun? The kids can proudly flaunt their clothing and accessories from KS, be it a scout bag or headband or a glittery scout cross body bag. And that’s not all, they have something in store for girls and also something for the toddlers too (aww-ing so hard RN).

The most shimmering section is their Jewellery Section where they have a personalization option, if one wants anything specific and other jewellery items including, of course, alluring necklaces, charming bracelets, exquisite earrings, beauteous rings, jewelry boxes and trays to boot. We just got a new high!

What could be better if you’ve got everything grouped together at just one location? Also, other accessories showcased here includes wallets and wristlets, watches, both for men and women, laptop bags and other tech accessories, keychains, makeup bags, legwear, fragrance, sunglasses, scarves, hats and belts and also a series of wearable tech accessories! (Woah.)

Before we could come out of that rush, we also took a look-see at the home accessories that included stationery, kitchen and dining items, along with pillows and other bedding options. Is there anything which they do not have? We don’t think so!

A little flutter, a lot colour, we found this magnificent showroom located on the ground floor of Select CITYWALK in Saket. Occupying a sizeable, premium corner in the mall, the showroom is easily accessible. Go, visit the store, be amazed, be spellbound and do say ‘Hi’ to Ms. Kate!
