Remember those days when trains used to fascinate us so much? Nowadays, we don’t even care to cast a passing glance at them, do we? But we’ve got this one train that won’t just make you look at it, but will leave you gaping in awe! Wondering what are we talking about? Scroll on to find out

Look What Rumbled Its Way To Delhi | As the Bihar Sampark Kranti Express made its way into the capital, passersby could not help but stare at it, all amazed and wonderstruck. What was so special about this train, you ask? Its nine coaches were adorned in pretty and colourful Mithila art, making it an absolute visual delight! Gone were the boring dark blue-painted coaches and what we saw in its place was magnificent designs!

The aim behind giving us this pleasant surprise was to promote the local art forms on a platform that is visible and accessible to all and what been better place for it than the Indian Railways, right? The trains will also have their interiors designed with Mithila art, so travellers, you’re in for a treat!

The Rajendra Nagar-New Delhi Rajdhani Express will also get a makeover under this project. A group of 30 women painted the coach over a span of four days and we applaud them for their flawless work! The paintings are basically based on village life, transportation system, flora and fauna and many other things. The railways might consider adopting this idea of art on other trains if the current ones elicit a good response!

How fun is it gonna be to see our trains all bedecked in various artworks. Well it might happen soon, so keep your cameras ready during your next trip to the railway station!
