Hey Delhiites! We have some interesting information that we wish to share with you. So just in case you have a thing for drones, keep reading, fellas!
The Game Of Drones Indeed! | Come 1st December 2018, flying drones will be legal in Delhi! The Ministry of Civil Aviation has laid down a host of guidelines in order to encourage safe usage of these drones in Delhi and across India.
So the Ministry has said that all drone activities will be monitored by this rather unique unmanned traffic management platform known as Digital Sky. All drone users will have to do a one-time registration of their drones. The drones will be allowed to fly at a maximum height of 400 feet and only during the day. Pilots of the drone need to obtain Air Defence Clearance before they can fly the drones. Phew!
The Ministry of Civil Aviation has also given guidelines as to where these drones can be operated. Drone owners, you cannot fly over airports, international borders, Vijay Chowk, the State Secretariat or any military installation. The Digital Sky will specify the zones where you can and cannot fly by colour coding these areas.
So if a zone is coded in red colour, that means you aren’t allowed to fly drones there. Yellow stands for controlled airspace, where you need to take permission before flying. Green zone is basically a free zone, where you don’t need to seek permission for flying drones.
For now, drone services can be used for aerial photography of real estate projects, monitoring the installations at wind and solar power plants, disaster relief, mineral exploration and more. We’re personally quite excited to spot these drones flying around Delhi!
