Undoubtedly the best university in the country, Delhi University also stands proudly at the top when it comes to hosting its annual fests that are not only popular and hep, but also well-organized in every sense of the word. 

With the approaching season, students have started to prepare for their fests in full-swing! To help you out with where to be heading for sure, we’ve handpicked the best ones in both North and South campuses. While some have announced the dates, some are still working on it. Go cheggit!

1. Reverie | Gargi College (29th- 31st Jan)

Apart from some amazing grub on offer, these guys also put on some really cool stalls of fashionable merch, handicrafts and what not! They also organize stunning events on all three days to mesmerize you all like dance performances, magic shows, comedy and theater acts along with competitions like matka painting, hindi poem recitation, singing competitions - et al. 

Famous dance group MJ5 and singers like Kailash Kher have graced this fest with their talent in past - come check ‘em out!

2. Aaghaz | PGDAV College (1st & 2nd Feb)

AAGHAZ, the annual cultural fest of PGDAV College is ready to ignite your spirits followed by some of the best performances and a night full of laughter, fun, music and unforgettable memories. Going with the theme ‘ Safarnama – The Journey Continues’, the fest promises to be LIT with electrifying clash of bands by The Local Train and a groovy star performance by Milind Gaba.

3. Tarang | Lady Shri Ram College ( 2nd - 4th Feb )

The cultural fest of Lady Shri Ram College, TARANG, is one of the most eagerly awaited festivals of Delhi University. The fest celebrates creativity and is known for bringing together the best student talent from across the country in fields of music, dance, dramatics, debating, fine arts, quiz, films, photography and other awesome sauce fields. 

TARANG has hosted one of the most amazing star nights, lining up artists like Kenny Sebastian, Kanika Kapoor, The Local Train Band and Lucky Ali. And of course, the crazy EDM nights are indeed a special highlight here, so check it out!

4. Montage | Jesus & Mary College (16th & 17th Feb)

JMC is not only known for its chic crowd of girls, but also for its annual fest, Montage, which is a great feast for the entertainment lovers! Graffiti competitions, rangoli-making and DIY challenges are refreshing events to check out, whereas Chimera (music event), Adaa (dance event) and Stagecraft (drama event) are definitely not-to-be-missed. 

The poetry slam, quizzes and debates are also enthralling, so head here for some ravishing performances!

5. Quintessence | Lady Irwin College (20th & 21st Feb)

One of the prominent colleges of Delhi University, Lady Irwin College is all set to organize its annual cultural extravaganza, Quintessence. Hosting various interactive dance, music and fashion events, the fest is a complete entertainment package filled with oodles of creativity. 

Get ready to dance, laugh and sing under the star-lit sky. And of course, with the spectacular star night, Quintessence is pretty much one RAD event!

6. Ullas | Kamla Nehru College ( 21st & 22nd Feb)

WIth the fest fever already high in DU, Ullas, organized by KNC tops the list of must-check-out fests in the whole university! ‘Glitz’, the fashion show is a hot favourite amongst all the fashionistas, while HorseTrade, a barter game organized by the commerce society has also been a hit with the participants. 

Nrityakriti, their choreography event, is one event all the dancers out there can’t dream of missing. Head over to this extravaganza ASAP for some really cool inter-college events and star performances!

7. Nexus | Sri Venkateswara College (22nd - 24th Feb)

Organized by the students union, the fest of Sri Venkateswara College is a laudable blow-out affair! Amongst the best organized, Nexus witnesses activities like karaoke, Western solo and duet singing competitions, general quizzes, debating competitions, creative writing etc. and Venky's fest is touted as one of the best in South Campus, thus attracts droves of crowds each year - come take it all in, peeps!

8. Lashkara | Khalsa College ( 26th - 28th Feb)

Get those Punjabi vibes at SGTB Khalsa College’s annual fest - Lashkara! The fest brings forward the best youth talent in music, art, photography, literature, theatre, debating and dance, and is more of a celebration of Punjabi folk culture! The fest is known to line up prominent Punjabi singers and artists for their star nights. 

With Guru Randhawa making the crowd go gaga with his performance in LASHKARA’17, we surely can’t wait for their 2018 Star Night!

9. Mosaic | Ramjas College

The annual college fest of Ramjas, ‘Mosaic’ earned lots of notoriety after the stampede that happened back in 2011, when Honey Singh performed at its Star Night. Like its name, Mosaic is an amalgamation of sorts, where the three-day annual fest showcases diverse activities and inter-college competitions. 

In recent years, artists like Bohemia (wow!), Raftaar and Anushka Manchanda have performed at the college, and we’re SO looking forward to this year’s edition!

10. Mecca | Hindu College

The annual festival of Hindu College is a big event organized by the student body of the college. Several activities like literary events, fashion shows, musical events ranging from classical to rock, dance events, street plays, theatre events and lots more take place at this extravagant affair.

11. Crossroads | Sri Ram College Of Commerce

SRCC’s annual cultural-cum-management event acts like a magnet attracting a storm of students to participate and audiences from top-notch educational institutions from across the country. Usually a three-day event, it includes activities like street plays, various social entrepreneurship competitions, games, business quizzes and apart from nerdy events, they also have music and fashion shows and ‘War of DJs’ among other exciting things plus lip-smacking food.

12. Tempest | Miranda House

The extraordinary three-day annual fest of Miranda House is undoubtedly the favourite of most in and around campus. The amazing events organized by the beautiful girls of this college include Battle of Bands, DJ Night, dance competitions, choir competitions, nukkad natak events and tons upon tons more! 

In the past, the sister duo of Neeti and Shakti Mohan and cool bands like Raeth have entertained the audience. DO NOT MISS THIS ONE!

13. Confluence | Hansraj

One of the most happening fests on campus, Confluence surely knows how to win hearts with its various fun-filled shindigs like the Kavi Sammelan, choreography competition, Rockonova- the battle of bands, fashion show, street-play competition and various others. In the past, Honey Singh, Indian Ocean, Mohit Chauhan, DJ Suketu etc. have managed to make it a grand celebration with their performances!

14. Renaissance | Kirori Mal College

While the annual college fest, Renaissance, is a high profile affair, the annual fests for the dramatics and music societies are also crowd pullers. Their infamous Dramatics Society - The Players, holds its stage play public performance outside the college, where both students and non-students from all over the city throng to watch the society’s annual stage productions. 

The annual fest of the music society, ‘Surmanjari’ is also famous for its display of creativity, music and talent. It is also the only college to have an annual fest for its gender forum, Parivartan, called ‘Nazariya’. This one promises to be a riotous do!

These fests are extremely interactive and engaging; all colleges aim to outdo each other and then let the crowd decide which fest was the best. Mind you - everything is not all peaceful at these fests. The crowd gets out of control too and stampedes are a common sight. The whole area is abuzz with large crowds waiting to get entry and as such, you should refrain from taking cars and use either public transport or cab it.
