Imagine sitting by yourself in the dark, when you hear a noise, more like a wail of a woman and then a shadow passes you by. No matter how much of a braveheart you like to consider yourself, you gotta admit, that sounds pretty frightening, doesn’t it? Well, word is, this is exactly what’s happening at the Tihar Jail these days!

Horror-Fic Nights | In barrack number 6 of the Tihar Jail, palpable terror precipitates in the atmosphere once the clock strikes 2 AM. The women inmates over here start screaming in fear as they claim to see glimpses of a mysterious woman and hear her blood-curdling wails at the same time every night!

The puzzling sightings of the said ‘ghost’ and the haunting screams are said to be heard only during the night. The inmates are so terrified here that they haven’t had a proper night’s sleep in quite a while and start crying as soon as the witching hour begins. 

This has given rise to a number of rumours about the origin of this presence. Some believe that an innocent woman must have committed suicide earlier, hence the place is haunted and one can hear her cry at night. While others believe that these women are sick or are experiencing hallucinations!
