Getting Greener | Ghaziabad Has Now Banned Polybags

Did you know that nearly 12,000 kgs of polythene is used in Ghaziabad everyday? According to an environmentalist, Vijay Pal Baghel, a major reason for choking drains and causing high mortality rates in cattle, this practice needs to be done away with immediately!

Taking a firm step to ban polythene bags, the Ghaziabad district administration has tied up with the police department and will prohibit the supply of these bags into Ghaziabad.

Helpfully, they’ll also be distributing eco-friendly bags, holding rallies and conducting plays to educate residents regarding the importance of curbing the use of polybags. Great move Ghaziabad - we’re all for it!
