From Reaching 90 Mins. Before Departure To Wearing Masks, Here's How Train Journeys Have Changed
This Is A Representative Image
Though the train services have partially resumed, the face of travelling sure has changed. A directive issued by authorities states that passengers travelling can only enter from Paharganj side and here’s all the other information you need to know.
Now Boarding | Besides the station premises being thoroughly disinfected, passengers with a valid ticket and wearing a mask, will only be allowed to enter the station and out of them, only the asymptomatic ones will be allowed to travel. Travellers are being encouraged to bring their own meals and water, but ready-to-cook ones and water will be provided in the trains on a chargeable basis. Arrangements for hands-free water and soap dispensers have also been made in order to reduce the risk of transmission.
Moreover, passengers have been asked to reach the station at least 90 minutes before, because a thorough checking will be conducted which may result in some problems being faced by those who arrive late. Boarding will be done in an organised manner, wherein only one passenger will be allowed to board at a time and those waiting on the platform will be expected to maintain social distancing.
Only the gate on the Chelmsford Road which is also known as the Paharganj side will be open for entry into the New Delhi Railway Station and the Ajmeri Gate will continue to be open strictly for migrants travelling via Shramik special trains.
Like Rajdhani, these pair of 15 trains will also charge premium fares and one can book a ticket seven days in advance for a journey instead of 60-129. Plus, no RAC/waiting or Tatkal Tickets will be issued.
So you think this move will change travelling in the Indian Railways for the better?
