If you were under the impression that it’s only the Delhi Metro that’s making travelling a cakewalk for you, then you were wrong, ‘cause there’s a lot brewing on the city’s roads as well. Remember the Barapullah flyover that was under construction? Well, we have an update about it. Read on.
Sarai Kale Khan - AIIMS In 15 Mins! | So the second phase of the much-awaited Barapullah flyover is gonna be thrown open to the public on the 28th of July. So what does that mean for us Delhiites? Precisely this - the travelling time between Sarai Kale Khan to AIIMS will come down to 15 minutes from the existing 35 minutes! Woah!
The stretch is going to be signal-free, so traffic movement will become a helluva lot easier. In fact, the entire corridor of the Barapullah flyover, which has four phases, will be signal-free and make commutation between East Delhi and the IGI Airport super fast for travellers.
The first phase of the flyover, connecting JLN Stadium and Sarai Kale Khan has been operational since the 2010 Commonwealth Games. In the second phase, the corridor is going to be extended for 2 kms from JLN Stadium to INA Market. In the third phase, the stretch from Mayur Vihar Phase I to Sarai Kale Khan will be added, and this is likely to see completion by 2020.
We say this is an awesome move!
