
FLOOD ALERT Issued In Delhi As River Yamuna Reaches Warning Levels (OMG)!

While we’ve been busy complaining about the scanty rainfall in Delhi, the Yamuna river has nearly reached warning levels!
ALERT! | The Delhi Government issued a flood alert on Sunday, the 18th of August, asking the people living in low-lying areas to evacuate their places. The water level of river Yamuna has risen alarmingly, so much so that it’s nearing warning levels with the water flowing at 203.37 metres on Sunday! Moreover, on Sunday, the Hathni Kund barrage in Haryana released 8.28 lakh cusecs of water at 6 PM.
As a result, the water level is expected to reach 204.5 metres on Monday, the 19th August, which is the warning level! The government has said that preparations are being made to put up tents to offer temporary shelter to the displaced populace. Last year the water level reached 205.5 metres - woah!
