Bookmark

We all have been on lockdown along with the entire nation for quite some time now and many wonder what will happen to travel post the lockdown? And how will this affect the day-to-day travelling by metro? Well, here’s a tentative answer to this.

What May Happen | The paramilitary forces, CISF, that guard the city’s lifeline AKA Dilli Metro has proposed a few measures to ensure that the social distancing norms are followed. The metro service may be resumed in a phased manner and the Aarogya Setu App will probably have an in-built feature that will help in identifying suspected patients.

Plus everyone entering the metro stations will have to mandatorily wear masks and provisions to wash hands or sanitize will be available at the entrance. There will also be a thermal screening of the commuters and people with abnormal temperatures will not be allowed to go ahead along with people having flu-like symptoms.

Strict social distancing norms will also be maintained with everyone standing at a distance of at least 2 meters in the queue and it has also been proposed to sanitize the entire station area, security fixtures, equipment and x-ray tables every 30 mins.

It has also been suggested that the passengers will be asked to take off metallic stuff and put them in a bag before security check or if they don’t have a bag they will be provided with a tray like those on airports. But to ensure the security of personnel at the ground, they will be wearing the uniform with sleeves covering their arms and masks and the staff in charge of frisking will additionally be wearing face shield or visor to protect their face especially eyes from exposure.

Do you think this proposal will be approved?
