With the government pushing for plastic money and cashless transactions, for the first time in the history of Delhi, tickets for the Republic Day Programme are being offered to the public via credit and debit cards! Nice.
The Defence Ministry, who is responsible for organising the Republic Day event, has announced that POS machines will be installed at different locations in the national capital through which Republic Day tickets can be bought by swiping either a debit or credit card. They’ll be installed at Sena Bhavan, South Block and North Block, Jantar Mantar, Pragati Maidan, India Gate and the Red Fort.

The whole of CP and various roundabouts in the NDMC area will be lit up on account of Republic Day this time, although traditionally, it was only the Rashtrapati Bhawan and the North - South Blocks that were lit up, but this year they’re taking it to a whole new level!
In this crazy time of demonetization, the entire city is soon to be run by an entirely cashless economy!
