DU Might Be Renamed As Veer Savarkar Vishwavidayala (Say Whaa?)!

For all of us who are either alumnus of Delhi University (DU) or are studying there right now, this institution holds a special place in our heart. But from what we just heard, it might soon be given a new moniker and we honestly don’t know what to make of it.

The Game Of Names | So, the buzz is that Swami Chakrapani of the Hindu Maha Sabha said that he will meet with the concerned government authorities to rename DU. You read it right, folks - he will put forward the issue of renaming the university to ‘Veer Savarkar Vishwavidayala’. Although far-fetched, that’s exactly what this prestigious institution might be called.

Previously Ram Lal Anand College (Evening) was renamed as Aryabhatta College and there have been talks about changing the names of other colleges as well. But this one aims at changing the name of renowned Delhi University itself which was established back in the year 1922!
