Women’s colleges in Delhi University have their fair share of conviviality. With so many options, both on and off campus, the girl gangs have for themselves some great hangout areas. Here’s a list of favourite hangout areas specific to each girls’ college in DU - read on, bookmark and chill, ladies!
LSR (Lady Shri Ram College)
Not very far from KNC and Gargi, academic excellence and personality development go hand-in-hand at LSR. The off campus hangouts include Amar Colony (the ultimate haunt for shopping and food), Lajpat Nagar, Greater Kailash, Defence Colony, Kailash Colony Market, Nehru Place, Hauz Khas Village & Sarojini Nagar Market. The on-campus places to chill at include the upper foyer, green lawns at the back as well as the residence hall and their canteen (oops!) the LSR Café.

DRC (Daulat Ram College) & Miranda House
Located in North Campus, these colleges have access to a plethora of hangout options. Be it the Arts Faculty, The Ridge, Majnu Ka Tila or Kamla Nagar Market, they have an abundance of eateries and shops to look forward to! J.P Tea Stall at Delhi School of Economics (DSE) is also a common hangout for all the students. And as far as the on campus haunts are concerned, besides their respective canteens and the lawns of DRC, not many bother to stay put in college when in North Campus *wink wink*!

Kamala Nehru College (KNC) & Gargi College
Part of the South Campus area, these colleges are adjacent to each other and both boast of spacious and green campuses. Their on-campus hangout areas include the canteens, Nescafe outlets, the chaupal for KNC, which is their buzzing amphitheatre and The Retreat for Gargi college, the students’ common room.
Hygienic canteens offering mouth watering food is a feature both colleges boast of and students are often seen in their neighbouring college digging into certain stand out dishes. Off campus, girls from both colleges head to Diggin, located conveniently opposite the two colleges. For shopping, nearby malls in Saket and Vasant Kunj, markets like South Extension, Shahpur Jat and GK are popular as well.

Jesus And Mary College (JMC)
The huge campus has hall stairs that are large enough to accommodate a large number of groups chatting away. Seemingly endless lawns for refreshing morning walks, a cool inviting balcony space to lean over and enjoy fresh air, an amphitheatre and multi-purpose hall to facilitate interactions and events, the fun factor within the premises of this college is unlimited.
There are also the famous JMC rocks that are located within the college compound. Off campus chilling destinations include 34 Chowringhee Lane in Satya Niketan - the ultimate haunt for foodies around the area. South Extension and Defence Colony markets are also regularly visited by the students.

This all-girls college (barring the nanotechnology department which is co-ed) is located in the posh area of Chanakyapuri. The on-campus haunts include the picturesque lawns best enjoyed during the winters, a buzzing amphitheatre and a great canteen offering delectable food. They also have a long stone passage that leads to different departments. Off campus, students can be seen frequenting the Cafe Coffee Day outlet near The Taj Palace Hotel, and for shopping they head out to Lajpat Nagar, Sarojini Nagar and other nearby markets.
