Bookmark

DU hopefuls, we guess you must be busy studying for your upcoming board exams, yeah? We know what you’re thinking - let’s just crack these tests and then we can get a seat in the college of our dreams. But here’s the deal, guys. It’s not going to be this easy from next year. Read on as we tell you everything in detail.

DU Aspirants, You Need To Know This | From the next academic year, that is 2019-20, your class 12th board marks might not be sufficient to score you a seat in your preferred college at DU, guys! The university is planning to introduce entrance exam-based admissions for ALL its undergraduate courses (OMG)!

This total change in the admission system might be introduced from the next academic year. However, class 12th board marks will also be given a certain amount of weightage and the university is still in the process of figuring out the details for this new model.

The idea behind switching over to entrance tests is to relieve the students of the burden of unrealistic cut-offs that some DU colleges are notorious for. Also, this would be a fairer system of admission and will ensure that more number of applicants manage to get seats in the university.

Currently, DU conducts online entrance exams for 9 undergrad courses, while admission for the rest is decided solely on the basis of class 12th board exam marks.

Well, we’re happy with this change in model for admissions at DU. We just hope this is able to benefit the next batch of college aspirants. Good luck, you guys!
