No one likes driving back home after an exhausting day in a crazy jammed up road, right? So, all the commuters in the eastern part of the city here’s something to cheer you up and give you all the more reasons to travel around happily instead of hustling in bumper to bumper traffic.

Anything To Free Us From The Traffic, Please! | The Public Works Department has planned to construct two flyovers and an underpass that’ll help in decongesting three major intersections. With an estimated cost of Rs 800 crores, the two flyovers will be the first of their kind as they will be double-decked. One of the two flyovers will be 5.5 metres above the ground for cars and the other, 5.5 metres above it for the Delhi Metro Phase IV corridor.

The first flyover, which will be 1.5 km long, will be constructed a hundred metres ahead of the existing one near Khajuri Khas. From what we’ve learnt, the authorities are also planning to build an underpass at the Loni intersection followed by a 1.5 km-long flyover starting at Gagan Cinema in Nand Nagri area.

The two flyovers will have six lanes each whereas the underpass would have four. These flyovers are expected to ease the jams at Bhajanpura and Ghonda junctions and the construction won’t hinder the existing vehicular movement as half the road on either side will be occupied by rubble.

So, soon you won’t have to hesitate to take your bae out on a date during the office hours with these new flyovers and an underpass.
