DMRC To Introduce 8-Coach Trains On Some Of The Oldest Routes To Accommodate More People
Travelling in crowded metro trains have more or less become a part of our daily struggle, right? Well, you might soon find some relief from overcrowded metro coaches as DMRC has decided to introduce 8-coach trains on some of the busiest lines.
Creating Space | The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has decided to bring in eight coach trains on its oldest corridors of Blue Line (Dwarka - Noida City Centre), Red Line (Rithala - Shaheed Sthal New Bus Adda) and Yellow Line (Samaypur Badli - Huda City Centre). They plan to replace all the currently plying 6 coaches with eight coaches to allow more passengers in the trains.
The Yellow and Blue Lines are the busiest corridors of the Delhi Metro and most of the trains running on them have eight coaches. But there are still 6-coach trains running on these routes, especially on the Red Line which is the oldest corridor. Did you know as many as 120 coaches have been procured for this purpose?
Looks like there’s about to be more space in the metro!
