Did You Know That The First Half Of December Has Been The Coldest In The Last Two Decades?

Brrrrrrr! If that’s what your mornings sound like nowadays, then you’re not the only one. The entire city has been engulfed in an icy chill and it seems like things are about to hit newer lows seeing the current trend in the temperature.

Colder Days Ahead | According to a recent analysis, the starting days, as in, the first half of December, has been the coldest in the last two decades. The mean maximum temperature so far has reached 22.7 degrees Celsius which is 1.6 degrees below normal. It’s also been the first time since 1997 that the mercury hasn’t touched 25 degrees Celsius. Night temperatures have been close to normal and similar to last year. 

Western disturbances have been aiding in the early onset of winters and the current weather conditions were last seen in the 70s and 80s. Sunday was a cold day with the minimum temperature hitting 9.6 degrees Celsius and the maximum remained at 19.8 degrees Celsius. The Met department has predicted a clearer sky and moderate fog in the coming week.
