Wedding functions make up for extensive and grand affairs in our country, and Delhi weddings have a league of their own. With the onset of the pandemic last year, a lot of restrictions had been imposed and the recent guidelines now make things a little more lenient, and here’s what you need to know.

Getting Back To Normal | The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) has raised the limit on wedding guests from 50 to 200 for every wedding function in banquet halls or any other indoor space. The newest SOPs mention that wedding functions can be held indoors at 50% capacity of the space with a cap of upto 200 guests. However, there’s no such cap on the number of people in outdoor spaces as their capacity will depend on the size of the venue.

Besides weddings, the permission has also been granted to hold other events of social, religious, sports, entertainment or cultural nature. Food stalls and stages will have to be sanitised before the event begins, separate entry & exits, temperature checks, maintaining social distancing and wearing of masks, are just some of the many rules that must be followed.

So, if you’re planning to host a spring wedding or know someone who is, then make sure to spread the word!
