Tell Me More | The Delhi Government’s transport wing is gonna get 60 portable tablets and attached printers to make issuing e-challans easier. The enforcement wing has about 200 employees, who will be divided into 60 teams and a portable tablet will be given to each team.
Last year, the enforcement wing prosecuted about 1.7 lakh vehicles and issued more than 2.3 lakh challans for violations like operating illegal buses, unregistered rickshaws and more.
These portable devices, which are said to be far more technologically advanced than the current devices being used, will bring in more transparency in prosecution of vehicles under the Motor Vehicles Act and these devices will also the facility of accepting payments via debit cards.
