Delhi To Roll Out Its Own Education Board Instead Of CBSE From This Year Onwards!

Hola Delhizens, we got some surprising news for all you students and parents that was recently announced on Saturday by Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal. Delhi might soon have its own Education Board from this year, and here are all the deets!

New Delhi Board Of School Education? | The Delhi Chief Minister on Saturday announced that a certain number of Delhi government-run schools will soon be de-affiliated from the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and be affiliated to a new and upcoming Delhi Board of School Education in the academic year 2021-2022.

While presenting the 2020 annual budget for Delhi, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia had announced that the government was setting aside Rs 62 crore for a separate state board of education. And now, this project might soon be taken off the ground, starting from the upcoming academic year.

The 1,000+ schools under the Delhi government, which had been affiliated to CBSE till now, might soon start getting integrated into the new board of education in batches of 20-25 government schools. They aim to encourage all private and public schools to voluntarily join the board within 4 to 5 years of inception of the new board.
