Hello, Delhiites! Our city will soon witness the setting up of the first toxic waste disposal plant and we’re all breathing easier now. Keep scrolling to know what we’re talking!
City’s First Waste Disposal Plant | Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (read DSIIDC) is soon going to set up a waste disposal plant in outer Delhi’s Bawana. The plant will be named as Hazardous Waste Treatment, Storage and Disposal Facility is going to be the city’s first toxic waste disposal plant!
The waste is generally burnt or goes to the municipal landfills which increases the risk of soil or groundwater pollution and thereby poses a severe threat to the environment. The tender for the same has already been floated and once the unit comes up, it will cater to the adjoining areas of Narela and Bawana as well!
We’re really looking forward to this and hope that the facility sets up soon!
