The Earth’s temperature is alarmingly increasing as you’re reading this. It‘s the need of the hour that we do our bit in saving the environment and there are tons of ways in which you can help save our ecosystem. The Delhi Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC) has come up with a noble way for a plantation drive and we couldn’t be happier.

For A Greener Future | DSGMC will be distributing saplings as prasad in honour of the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev. They want to promote tree planting in schools and colleges so that students become aware of the degrading environment and work towards its betterment. They have even launched a mega drive to plant 1 lakh trees in and around all gurudwaras and Sikh educational institutions and we’re applauding this initiative.

Colleges associated with the Committee will make it mandatory for freshers to plant 10 trees from the current academic session and students will have to submit reports with the status of their plants against which they’ll be given marks - nice. Around 55,000 new trees will be planted under this move, which is awesome!

We sincerely hope this righteous move bears the fruit as desired (no pun intended) and does its bit in help saving the environment!
