Delhi Govt's Soon Gonna Crack The Whip At Restaurants Serving Alcohol To Underage Patrons
All those cool dudes who’ve been indulging in alcohol even though they ain't of legal drinking age yet, well restaurants are soon going to stop serving daru to you child! Underage drinking is a crime, but serving alcohol to underage minions is an even bigger crime that restaurants were clearly getting away with, but no more.
This decision came along post the Lt Governor expressing his concern in a meeting over complaints of liquor being served to "underage" customers in bars and restaurants. In Delhi the legal age for drinking alcohol is 25 years, but most places serve liquor to people belonging to the 18-25 category without even questioning their age, let alone asking for ID proof as they should.
As per rules, the excise department can take strict action against violators, including imposition of stiff fines or cancellation of licence. Soon a rule will be rolled out declaring the fine that the restaurants serving liquor to underage customers would have to pay.
Let’s see what happens now!
