Dussehra marks the annihilation of Raavan, the demon king, by Lord Ram symbolizing the victory of good over evil and is celebrated with much fanfare in Delhi by burning the effigy of Raavan, Inderjeet (his son), and Kumbhkaran (his brother) and bursting firecrackers for good measure.

The Ramlila Ground, as the name suggests, is one of those places in Delhi where Dussehra is celebrated in the biggest possible way! At the Ramlila Ground, the festivities begin a few days before Dussehra. They showcase Ram’s 'Lila' i.e. a play that begins every evening from where it ended on the previous day.

A lot of times this celebration is attended by Bollywood stars and political personalities, so if you’re lucky, you might just get to see some celebs there!

They start the celebration 12 days prior to Dussehra, and so the festivities have begun and every Delhiite should definitely attend one day at least and be a part of the crazy atmosphere here!
