Delhi Karavan is a heritage group with a mission to share and re-discover the lost culture of Delhi with its denizens. They’ve organised storytelling events, heritage walks and food walks as a medium to spread knowledge, and some foodie fun, among people.
Every week they organise walks and involve people in and around Delhi and help them get to know many fascinating things about the city, and this week is no exception! While the Purana Qila is on every tourist's list, some beautiful smaller places around get overshadowed by its popularity.
So they've organized another heritage walk this Sunday, where you'll be visiting some beautiful heritage sights like the Khairul Manazil, a 16th century mosque lying across the Lal Darwaza; Bagh e Bedil, which once was Abdul Qadir Bedil’s haveli, and a few more historic gems. Towards the end, you'll get to visit the ‘Dargah Of Matka Peer’ where you’ll be hearing all about the legendary tales of Hazrat Sheikh Abu Bakr, a 12th century sufi saint. Sounds like a leisurely historic jaunt, doesn't it?
Get together to witness some great tales spanning over the Mughal Era, the transformation of Delhi and maybe learn a thing or two about the melting pot of cultures that Delhi really is!
