Don’t we just love strolling about in the crowded streets of Chandni Chowk, enveloped by the hustle bustle of street side vendors and people? The only kinda noise we don’t like there is the honking of cars while we’re trying to achieve the herculean task of navigating through a narrow lane teeming with people! Urgh! But hey, there’s some good news on that front! Check it out.

No More Honking Cars In Chandni Chowk? | Our beloved Chandni Chowk might become the first pedestrians-only road in the city and we couldn’t be happier about this! Soon, we’ll be able to comfortably roam about across the gem of Old Delhi, without worrying about cars and their annoying honking!

The Unified Traffic and Transportation Infrastructure Centre has recently given its approval to a proposal about reserving the 1.5 kms stretch, from Red Fort to Fatehpuri Mosque, for pedestrians only and non-motorised vehicles. Great! No vehicles will be allowed in this area for 12 hours - from 9 AM to 9 PM.

The NDMC had earlier planned to declare our dear CP as a pedestrians-only zone, but the project didn’t materialise as there was fierce opposition to this. We’re really looking forward to this move!
