With the registrations for the boards already in process, we just heard about this alarming hike in fee for the same by the Central Board Of Secondary Education (CBSE) that you should defo know about!

Hike Alert! | We just got word that CBSE has raised the fee for board examinations of classes 10th and 12th. Earlier, SC and ST students would have to pay Rs 50 but now, they’ll have to shell out Rs 1,200 for five subjects which makes it an increase of a whopping 24 times. While the general category will now be paying Rs 1,500 for five subjects instead of Rs 750 which makes it double the previous fee.

There’s also been a jack-up in the fee for an additional subject from Rs 150 to Rs 300 for the general category in class 12th. Plus, the SC and ST students, who were exempted from paying it earlier, will now have to cough up Rs 300. Although the visually impaired students are excused from paying any fee, which is great news!

In case you didn't know, the registrations for 10th standard happen in class 9; while those for class 12th take place in the 11th grade. These notifications came in when some of the schools have already started with the registration process. Hence, the students who have already deposited the fee according to the previous structure will now have to expend the difference in the amount and if they fail to deposit the same before the last date of submission, they will not be registered for the exams!

Moreover, there’s also a hike in the migration fee from Rs 150 to Rs 350. And those who’re studying in CBSE schools abroad will have to fork out Rs 10,000 as opposed to Rs 5,000 and the fee for the additional subject in standard 12th has been raised to Rs 2,000 from Rs 1,000!

Woah, with such an alarming fee swell, we hope the submission of the same doesn’t become a daunting task for some!
