Expatriates moving to a new country often feel the need to get to know other expats, to share experiences and learn from them, and Delhi has lots of great expat groups for all of this. We’ve culled out a handful of them and these groups will offer support, helpful information and generally help you get acclimatized with the nuances of living in Delhi, take a look!

Delhi Expat Club

DEC is a network for expats and NRIs hailing from foreign nationalities. It’s a social club whose aim is to get professional expatriates networking together in pubs, clubs, restaurants, social gatherings -et al, in order to share each other’s global experiences and make wonderful friends along the way. It currently has over 1,800 members, so check them out!

American Women’s Association

The American Women’s Association was founded in 1947 and is open to all American citizens and to spouses of American citizens to support and encourage friendship among them. Members can participate in the services and activities sponsored by the AWA. Monthly meetings and events are held each month from August through April. Go check them out!

Delhi Network

This non-profit organization’s main purpose is to support expats living and working in Delhi. The organization has over 500 members, representing all continents and a whopping 57 nationalities. It provides a great platform to share information and build a network of friends that can help you adjust to living and working in this amazing city!

Gurgaon Connection

In order to cater to the expats living in Gurgaon for whom the Delhi network meetings may be a tad bit far, Gurgaon Connection was started. They organize weekly meetings and various social activities, events and workshops on a regular basis to provide a platform for integrating into and learning about the community.

InterNations

Set up like Linkedin or Facebook, InterNations is an online community for people who live and work abroad. Members can exchange information on expat-specific topics, both on a local and global level. With more than 950,000 members worldwide in 390 communities (wow!), InterNations provides expats with the opportunity to build their own global network of contacts and make friends wherever they are at their regular offline events in Delhi NCR.

Delhi Accueil

This organization is primarily for all the French speaking expatriates, but also for other nationalities living in Delhi NCR. Currently, they have over 240 families as members and it is run by voluntary expatriate housewives. Once a week, they have a coffee morning and regularly organize other activities and conferences. The website has quite a bit of information about the city and for newcomers, but all in French!
