If there’s one thing that we have come to depend upon, it’s definitely WiFi and the fact that Delhi may soon get FREE WiFi connectivity in some parts of the city is awesome news, y’all!
Instagram To Your Heart’s Content! | From what we’ve learnt, within the next 6 months, all the areas that come under the New Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) will get FREE WiFi! This brilliant move comes under the Centre’s Smart City Mission and currently, there’s free connectivity in CP and its surrounding areas through smart poles.
The aim is to extend free WiFi to all areas by the end of December and they are also offering Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) cable service in and around CP. The existing 55 smart poles by the NDMC also have features like CCTV cameras, environmental sensors with a display unit and smart LED streetlights. The initiative to introduce 625 more such poles in areas like bus stands, metro stations and market places has already begun.
Plus, the agencies have already installed 50 digital interactive panels in well-known markets such as CP, Sarojini Nagar, Khan Market, Pandara Road and Chanakyapuri. In addition, people can now lodge complaints about services like sanitation, education and energy conservation through the 311 App.
Now that’s what we call a step in the right direction!
