AIIMS Will Soon Offer Door-To-Door Medical Facilities To People In Old Age Homes; Here’s How

Hola Delhizens, we’re here to tell you about this really noble initiative that people at the famous AIIMS have taken up in order to make the lives of people in old age homes a hell lotta easier. Check it out!

Medical Facilities On Wheels For Elderly People | The geriatric division (basically, a separate department for elderly people) at AIIMS has come up with the concept of a mobile van in order to cater to all the health related needs and issues of elderly people living in old age homes in and around Delhi. That’s very thoughtful of them, don’t you think?

So this mobile van is basically gonna be a mini hospital on wheels of sorts. It will have resources for basic lab tests, medicines and physiotherapy equipment, which will visit old age homes on a regular basis for a mandatory health check up and screening for common diseases like hypertension and diabetes. 

This initiative was undertaken keeping in mind how difficult it becomes for elderly people to visit hospitals for their regular check ups or treatment of diseases. With this door-to-door medical service, these people will not have to wait in crowded OPDs for doctor or attendants to examine them. 

Doctors at AIIMS have said that if this initiative is a success, they would request the government to take on the same at a larger scale. 

We are really impressed by the sensitivity shown towards the elderly. Here’s hoping that this initiative is successful and is able to make lives of the people easier!
