The Delhi University was first established back in British India, in the year 1922 with only 4 colleges, 2 faculties and approximately 750 students on the roster. The 4 colleges that existed in Delhi at the time were St. Stephen's College founded in 1881, Hindu College founded in 1899, Zakir Husain Delhi College (then known as The Delhi College), founded in 1792 and Ramjas College founded in 1917. The years following its inception saw the university grow into a giant educational institution. Presently, the entire campus is scattered all over Delhi, divided into North & South, and has around 90 institutes under it, with the vice-president of India performing the duties as the acting chancellor of the University of Delhi.

For all the DU hopefuls who’ve used up all their blood, sweat and tears preparing for their boards, just to have a glimmering chance at their dream college in the University, would agree that admissions here are like an actual warpath. With percentage cut-offs that don’t dwindle below the 90% mark and start off with as high as 99%, getting into your favourite college isn’t exactly easy, to say the least.

The various colleges in the university offer both Undergraduate(UG) and Postgraduate(PG) courses, along with certain special certificate courses and even diplomas, for students who might not want to invest in a full 3 - 4 years of a rigorous academic course. Not all colleges offer admission based on your percentage in the 12th grade but have separate entrance examinations for admissions. These admissions at DU are based on class 12th scores of candidates in the qualifying examination, along with the entrance exam scores. The application process for admission is online through the official website of the university and the universities that follow this include UG Programs like Bachelor of Management Studies, Bachelor of Business Administration - FIA, B.A. (Hons) - Business Economics, B.
