A New & Improved BRT 2.0 Is Being Planned Which Will Connect East Delhi With Mori Gate

Bookmark

BRT was a pain for most of us because the ever so crowded road became all the more crowded because of the added corridor, which is why it was finally dismantled a while ago in South Delhi. And now, there’s an all new and improved version of the BRT that’s popping up and it’ll go from East Delhi to Mori Gate with the aim of helping regulate traffic in town.

Everything You Need To Know | Firstly, this transit corridor will not be called Bus Rapid Transit but Express Bus Service (EBS). Secondly, one major drawback that the earlier one had was that the road was already a crowded one, and the BRT corridor was added without actually expanding the road and making room for the corridor, which actually ended up compounding the traffic snarls. Learning from that disaster, this new EBS will not be touching the already built road, but will be added on the sides of the already exisiting road to make more space! Thank god!

In BRT 2.0, a new parallel road will be constructed for high-speed bus movement. Buses plying between Karawal Nagar and Mori Gate will travel via Khajuri Khas and other areas. The original BRT ran between Moolchand and Ambedkar Nagar, and was only 6 kms long, whereas the newer version will be 13 kms long! Nice.

Can’t wait to see this kickstarted!
