Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister for Road Transport, has announced that a new access road will be built to cut down the travel time between Delhi and Jaipur. The new highway would slash the travel time down to just two hours only!

At the moment, the 270 km-long distance takes about six hours to cover by road, which is a long ride. But soon Delhi-Jaipur will become like Delhi-Agra travelling! The Minister said that an ‘Intelligent Transport’ system would be set up along with CCTV cameras monitoring the traffic on NH8. Now that's a move in the right direction!

The work will begin in January 2017, and is scheduled to take 15 months to complete the entire construction.

In almost two years from now, weekend getaways for Delhiites will be Jaipur!
