It’s high time that we do something to combat the recurring problem of air pollution in the city and to make sure that this doesn’t happen, a super cool initiative is being taken in the city. Hola, wonderful readers! We just heard about this project that might relieve the city from all the choking.

Pedalling Towards Cleaner Environment? | The foundation stone for ‘Delhi CycleWalk’ was lain on Monday, the 6th of January. This is supposed to be a 200-km track for cycling and walking, which might help in the reduction of pollution. The CycleWalk is supposed to be built over the span of the next 4 years might even help in reducing the pollution levels by 20%.

Presently, around 11 lakh people commute by cycle and efforts should be made to increase this number to 50 lakh! The corridor is supposed to loop around the city like a ring which will connect metro stations, bus stands, business areas, high-density residential areas, recreational and educational districts.  The whole network will exceed 200 km and phase 1 of this will be approx. 36kms. Three lines have been chosen such as Nilgai Line from Badarpur to Malviya Nagar, Peacock Line which is from Malviya Nagar Metro Station to Vasant Kunj Mall and Bulbul Line that will connect Chirag Dilli to Nehru Place & ISKON Temple.
