What’s Happening? | Delhi Metro is soon going to introduce AC feeder buses which will run on electricity and CNG. *Naice!* A total of 905 feeder buses is on the cards, out of which 530 buses will be inducted in the first phase of the overhaul. Out of these 530, 288 are gonna be CNG-run and 142 will run on electricity. So basically, we’re saving on fuel and relieving Delhi’s air of pollution! Great!
Currently, there are just 269 feeder buses which ply on 33 routes. That is way too less to support a population of about 2 lakh people travelling on these buses daily! Woah!
This year, the metro officials will release 250 buses for public use. Equipped with CCTV cameras, these newbies will have 24 seats and will ply on a total of 53 routes. However, make note that these buses will be accessible to metro card holders only, people!
We can’t wait for these buses to hit the road and make travelling even more luxurious and comfy for us than ever before!
