9 Prominent Delhi Roads Will Be Redesigned & Landscaped Like European Roads By Next Year

Isn’t it a real pain walking on a busy road, with scooters and cars almost bumping into you? Well, all those who love to walk can now rejoice as soon the city might have separate footpaths and tracks. Now isn’t that amazing? Well, then read on if you don’t wanna miss out on the deets!

Europe-Style Roads Ahead | The Delhi government is planning to re-engineer and alter the roads of the capital city and make them like those in the European cities to match the international standards and bottlenecks will be removed. Basically, this would accommodate landscaping, redesigning footpaths to make them pedestrian-friendly and easier for differently-abled persons, dedicated waiting space for autos, rickshaws and e-rickshaws as well as facilities for rainwater harvesting and street furniture. The cost of the entire project will be around Rs 400 crores.

So, far nine prominent roads spanning over 45 km have been selected and these include stretches from AIIMS to Ashram, Vikas Marg (Laxmi Nagar Chungi to Karkari Mor), Mayapuri to Moti Bagh, Wazirabad Depot to Rithala, Britania Chowk to West Enclave, Shivdaspuri to Patel Marg, Narwana Road, Ambedkar Marg to Defence Colony and Nigambodh Ghat Road near Kashmiri Gate to Magzine Road.
