Last night, was an unprecedented night for all of us. In the middle of chatting with our friends, suddenly the messages stopped delivering! And, the world saw a unique crisis- there was a global outage- for almost 6 HOURS, of the world’s most popular social media sites, Instagram, Facebook, and Whatsapp. We all went through a number of different emotions and phases during this time, and here’s a list trying to talk about those feelings!

1. Yeh Kya Hua, Kaise Hua

Wait, why did our WiFi stop? Huh, it seems to be working fine? *switched rigorously between Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp.* Yes, we all went through different stages of panic, from blaming our WiFi, restarting our phones, wondering if something big like demonetisation is gonna happen again. After all, what could be the reason our dearest Insta and WhatsApp don't seem to work?!

2. Locha E Ulfat Hogaya- Yeh Comedy Hai, Ya Tragedy Hai

Then the moment of realisation dawned- is social media down? Truly, just like Locha-E-Ulfat, we couldn't realise if it was a comedy or a tragedy! We obviously had a hard time believing, and still kept on refreshing our feeds, just in case!

3. Yeh Kahaan Aagye Hum?

Okay, now what? What is this new world without social media? What do we do now? Hmm, what else is out in the world outside our phones? Do we do some reading? Do we watch TV? - were some of the questions that clouded our minds. How did people even pass their time before the internet?!

4. Tanhaai

The world only becomes lonelier without social media! What is this tanhai? Obviously bored of life outside or phones, we look longingly at our feeds, which fail to load. How are our internet friends doing?

5. Sau, Dard Hai

Now, it was time for the existential questions. Seriously, is there all there is to life? Are we so dependent on social media? Do we need a real break from it all? Social media, other than connecting us to the world, also acts as the number 1 distraction. Not just from our chores, but also from our dukh & dards. Now that is gone, the dukh & dard are back!

6. Chalein Mitwa

“Twitter toh active hoga!” Let’s go and check out what’s cooking there. Indeed, we are swarmed with memes after memes, all of which are so damn lit! Oh wow, the world is here- at Telegram! With all the partially dead groups coming back to life, it’s a fiesta of meme sharing! Alas! We are connected. And also lowkey emotional- these are the apps that don’t disappoint us, and have our backs at all times!

7. Party Yunhi Chalegi

Last night, the entire world was on Twitter, literally! And Twitter was not shy to acknowledge that. Even the Twitter handles of Whatsapp & Instagram were active, and well, apparently, the “where’s the party tonight” destination was Twitter! Of course, Twitteratis showed off their supremacy with a number of memes.

8. Aa Bhi Jaa

Ah, what a relatable meme- let’s post it on our story. Uh-oh, a sudden reminder! Come on Instagram, it’s been too long, we need to share these golden memes! How are we even gonna fall asleep tonight, without scrolling for hours and hating ourselves for it later? Somehow, scrolling through YouTube, Snapchat, and Twitter, we fall into a spell of sleep.

9. Mauja Hi Mauja

After some tough hours for the offices of Facebook, social media came back to life around 4 in the morning. We woke up to the news of Mark Zuckerberg personally apologising, and more. But well, Yippee! Now there are only Mauja Hi Mauja as the apps are back. Have you caught up on all the hilarious memes yet?

Well, so this was how we felt! How was last night for you? Share with us your thoughts!
