It’s Pride Month and we’re all joining hands in supporting the LGBTQIA+ community, but that doesn’t mean that your support should end at the end of June. Show support all year round to the community by checking out these Indian queer-owned small businesses and help uplift them. There are many such small businesses that require your support and this list just covers a small portion of that much bigger community, so go ahead and spread some love and support! 

1. Blank Canvas

The Blank Canvas is operated and founded by Srish (they/them) and Shweta Gopal and they’re known for customising shoes, tee, masks and bags. They are beautifully hand-painted or tie and dyed to give them a unique look and personality that matches the awesomeness of their clients. Lifafaa is owned by Anushka (they/them) who is genderfluid and bisexual and making resin jewellery is their happiness and pride. They create the most stunning handmade resin jewellery and we’re in love with the beautiful combs, keychains, earrings, pendants and more that they custom make to suit each client. 3. The Home Front

Have you ever seen macrame jewellery that’ll make you want to own them immediately? Well, here’s a Maharashtra-based online store that creates beautiful handmade micro-macrame jewellery with great attention to detail and you’ll want to snatch up these beauties immediately! 4. Argha’s Chocolate Creations

Argha’s Chocolate Creations is owned by 18-years-old self-taught Argha Naskar (he/him) who is based in Kolkata and who opened his own chocolate store to help finance his studies and help the marginalized people by giving them free workshops so that they can also start their own small businesses. He sells decadent chocolates, bonbons, cakes and Bengali platters that look simply divine so go ahead and order from his store and support him as much as you can!

5. Sassage Stickers

Sassage Stickers is owned by Laksha (she/her), who is bisexual and sells a myriad of LGBTQIA+ related stickers with important themes and messages like self-love, acceptance and celebrating love in any form and shape. The store is also dropping a new collection for pride and we’re super excited to snag all the cute and colourful stickers and show our support. 6. The Yellow Bookshop

The Yellow Bookshop is a paradise for all bookworms, artists and poets with its incredible range of handcrafted book boxes, stickers, hand-painted bookmarks, and a selection of incredible novels and books. They sell everything nerd-related from preloved to new and we’re already planning to buy out the entire collection (they’re THAT pretty!) 7. It’s Mint To Be

It’s Mint To Be is owned by Sush (she/they) who is a queer Sikh artist from Mumbai and creates and sells creative clay jewellery pieces inspired by anime, mangas and different fandoms. You can also get them to customise your own fabulous designs and they’re also launching a new Pride Month collection that has left us with goo-goo eyes because they’re that unique and pretty. 8. Medusa

Medusa was started by Purab (he/him) a trans man hailing from Assam who expressed his freedom of identity through clothes and therefore wanted a medium to spread the message of self-love and help people express their own freedom of identity through the clothes he sells. All the clothes and accessories that he sells stand for equality, representation and self‑love. They have an awesome collection of knitted sweaters, hoodies, tees, socks, tote bags, badges and more, that are ever so unique and special, so go ahead and show some love, peeps!
