8 Dishes Like Cherry Blossom Cocktail & Seafood Okonomiyaki We Tried @ Yuzu, Nehru Place

A new Japanese restaurant called Yuzu recently popped up in Nehru Place and if you love authentic, scrummy Japanese dishes then you HAVE to head to this place! Touted to have Delhi’s first sake bar, this place has been on our minds ever since it opened doors. With dim lighting, peppy music and amazing decor, this place made us a fan right away. Check out everything we tried here! 

1. Cherry Blossom

This amazing concoction of sake and vodka defo got us buzzed! We’d heard good things about this particular drink and totally loved it. Their Cherry Blossom was amazingly delicious and the bartender especially added a little more sake on request. What we’re saying is that if you’re going here, do order this one!  

2. Sake Bomb

This insanely famous and quintessential Japanese alcoholic drink is a beer cocktail and is supposed to be consumed before it gets warm! In this drink, sake is poured in a shot glass and then it’s dropped into a glass of beer. The shot glass is placed over two chopsticks on top of the beer glass and you have to slam the table with your fists so that sake is poured into the beer. Trust us, as crazy as it may sound, this was super fun and totally yummy! 

3. Torched Edamame

 

This dish caught our attention right away! Served only to people above the age of 25, their Torched Edamame was actually booze infused. Usually, Edamame isn’t prepared using alcohol but Yuzu made a nice addition to this dish by pouring whisky and serving it in spicy garlic sauce flambé style. The whisky added a nice flavour to the whole dish and we devoured it completely within minutes! 

4. Chicken Gyoza

If you love dimsums, like we do, then you gotta try this one for sure. Served with homemade chilli oil, the Chicken Gyoza here came in a hot plate. We just couldn’t wait to dig in and hog on this dish as soon as it was served. We’d say devour this dish immediately ‘cause it tastes best when it’s piping hot!

5. Crispy Fried Squid

We simply loved the Crispy Fried Squid here. It was served with green chilli, lime and ponzu sauce. The squid was perfectly fried and not overcooked at all and we’re thankful for that. So, if you’re a seafood lover, then you have gotta order this dish, it’s just too hard to resist!  

6. Seafood Okonomiyaki

Commonly known as seafood pancake, this dish was recommended to us by the staff. It’s a Japanese savoury pancake made with fish, prawn and squid. Served with spicy mayo and tonkatsu sauce, this dish was really toothsome. Every bite left a burst of flavours on our taste buds!

7. Creamy Miso Chicken Ramen

We were stuffed after eating so much but there was no way we could’ve skipped a ramen dish in a Japanese restaurant. Just like the name suggests, the dish was creamy, filling and absolutely delish! It was surely one of our fave dishes, so don’t forget to try it out while you’re there.

8. Raspberry and Passionfruit Ice Cream

We decided to end our meal with some delightful and sinful ice cream scoops. The Raspberry And Passionfruit Ice Cream tasted lovely in this sweltering heat. Although the dessert menu here is limited, the options available are just FAB! So, after a filling meal, order this ice cream up and trust us, you’d thank us later!
