8 Cheap And Fab Dishes Like Bhelpuri, Kachori Aloo & More We Found @ Vishwavidyalaya Metro Station

Delhi Metro is literally the lifeline of the city, and undoubtedly, Vishwavidyalaya Metro Station (read - VV metro) is the backbone of the entire North Campus. So, we thought of doing some research and explore the food options that the area around VV metro station has to offer. Turns out, that this place isn’t just a beloved station, but also the hub of budget friendly and yummy food, with stalls dishing out tasty street food. So, leggo!

1. Kachori With Aloo Sabzi On A Cycle

No matter who we are, we’re all desi at heart, and need some savoury aloo sabzi and kachoris to make our taste buds happy and content. That’s why we found the perfect place for you to enjoy some tangy kachori sabzi, on a bicycle behind the bus stand, here. They even top the kachoris with chopped onions, for that perfect blend of taste and have been doing the same for several years now! So, anyone up for a satisfying snack, on the cheap?

2. Archana Cold Drinks

We all need some chilled drinks to beat the scorching heat of Delhi. So, when here, don’t worry because Archana Cold drinks has it all, from Coke, Fanta, Maaza to cold coffee and different shakes.They even have some cheap, yet yummy snacks like burgers, patties, sandwiches and all kinds of biscuits, for you to munch on, as you sip away your beverages!

3. Raj Singh Bhelpuri Stand

Bhelpuri is a perfect light snack, originating from Bombay, that has made its way into our hearts. Not everyone can make this mixture of puffed rice, veggies and sauces perfectly but, this vendor surely can. So, when are you coming here for your plate?

4. Tar Keshwar Lemon Stall

Banta or Nimbu Paani is the ultimate weapon to beat the raging summer sun and get that much needed energy boost. This chilled and refreshing drink is all you need, to quench your thirst and get on with your college life. Though, there are several similar stalls, we liked the one by Tar Keshwar the most because he accepts PayTM and has been putting up his cart here, everyday for the past 10 years!

5. Ramvati Didi Bhutta And Chai

Bhutta, challi or sweet corn, whatever you call it, good ol’ corn on the cob is the ultimate monsoon snack. You’ll find a tiny stall on your right, while going towards VV metro gate no. 4 and can grab this delightful treat, to make your taste buds happy. Apart from that, you can also get some kadak chai here. So, come over, warm corn and hot tea awaits!

6. Shiv Dayal Bhelpuri And Sevpuri

Sevpuri, a combination of puri or papdi, topped with veggies, chutneys and sev is a flavoursome Indian snack, loved by most. So, we had to try it out when we saw a stall named Shiv Dayal Bhelpuri and Sevpuri, and boy, are we glad? The person who runs it has been dishing out bhelpuri and sevpuri for the past 5 years, near VV Gate no. 4. The sevpuri that we tried was a burst of flavours, with its perf sweet and sour combo. You can even pay here using PayTM and can get your Sevpuri prepared as per your taste! So, we’ll see you there?

7. Darjeeling Momos Point

Delhi and momos can’t and won’t be separated. So, we had to include our beloved snack in this list or else, it wouldn’t have been complete. There are 2-3 momo joints at VV, but we liked Darjeeling Momos the most. You can choose from the options of Veg, Paneer or Chicken here, at this tiny stall. Come here, for a light evening snack sometime!

8. Anrud Shah Special Sweets, Supari and Churan Wale

This one made us super nostalgic. We found this tiny cart with an array of candies, churans and suparis in all forms. It had everything from aam papad, imly, coated dates to roasted & sweetened fennel seeds and even the classic orange kampat. The best part is that everything is handmade with 11 years of experience. Come, lay your hands on some yummy treats at this cart!
