1. Jingkieng Nongriat, Double-Decker Root Bridge, Meghalaya

Located in Meghalaya, Jingkieng Nongriat is a living double root bridge. Found in the thick & wet forests of Meghalaya, the tree is partly natural & partly man-made and the roots are of an ancient kind of rubber tree, found only in the North East region. Although several of these living root bridges can be found here, Jingkieng Nongriat is the most popular ‘cos it is a pretty long double-decker with a waterfall flowing right below it. 2. Unakoti Heritage Site, Tripura

A lesser-known lord Shiva pilgrimage site, Unakoti has been around since around the 7th century, and is truly a wonder! You all must have heard about the Angkor Wat in Cambodia for its famous rock carvings, but did you know about Unakoti? Unakoti literally means one less than a crore, and that’s how many rock carvings are believed to be here! Although these carvings are mysterious and very little is known about them, there are a lot of mythical stories and beliefs about this place which houses rock carvings of the deities Shiva, Parvati, Ganesh among others. Can’t wait to visit this one in Tripura!
3. Pelling Skywalk, (Chenrezig Statue) Sikkim

Did you know that when you go to Sikkim it is (almost) possible to walk on clouds?! Well, Sikkim has India’s 1st glass skywalk that has been blowing us away with its beauty ever since it was constructed. The glass skywalk stands at a height of 7,200 feet above the ground, and if you look below (at your own risk) you get to see the breathtaking valley and the rivers Teesta & Rangit. The skywalk overlooks the majestic & massive Chenrezig Statue, which is an earthly manifestation of the eternal Buddha. The statue indeed looks enchanting and divine. 4. The Keibul Lamjao National Park - Floating National Park

The world’s ONLY floating national park, the Keibul Lamjao National Park is on Loktak Lake in Manipur. Known for the patches and rings of biomass called phumdis, the park is a wetland ecosystem and is home to the Sangai, the dancing deer & also the state animal of Manipur. FYI, the Sangai is severely endangered and so are these floating phumdis, ‘cos of all the man-made developments. Well, if you’re truly a wildlife enthusiast, you can add this unique wetland ecosystem to your bucket list.
5. Majuli - Largest River Island In the World On Brahmaputra River

The cultural capital of Assam, Majuli is the largest river island in the world. The place is magical and lush green. Located on the river Brahmaputra, Majuli is home to a number of migratory birds and if you’re an avid nature lover, you’d go totes bonkers over this place. You should even take a chance to visit the vibrant and colourful festivals of this place which are brimming with cheer & joy.
6. Mawlynnong, Meghalaya - Asia’s Cleanest Village

Also known as ‘Gods Own Garden’ you can already imagine how gorgeous would this place be! The cleanest village in Asia, Mawlynnong is characterised by fruit orchards, the rushing streams, the evergreen surroundings, the swaying palms, and the well-preserved traditions of the Khasi tribes. The picture-perfect Meghalaya has many one of a kind tourist attractions like Pynursla, Dawki Shnongpdeng and Kudengrim too, so make sure you visit ‘em all!
