Indian Cinema is often accused of portraying female characters as arm candy or full-on sanskari, and for decades, female characters were sketched as vulnerable, weak and sensitive, or if by chance a strong female character was truly the lead of the storyline, she was always shown as a spoiled brat, a vamp or as an anti-hero. But, with the changing times (finally!)Indian cinema is also taking a progressive approach and today bold, strong, opinionated and powerful female characters are acknowledged and appreciated. Though all characters in The Family Man were beyond excellence, Raji's fierceness won our hearts like nobody else. She was a victim of patriarchy but she didn't bend her knees to it. She stood for herself and was absolutely strong, bold and unapologetic. She was ferocious in fights but was equally vulnerable and emotional while remembering his family. Raji is nowhere an ideal woman but she is definitely relatable.

Although Tara has been through a lot, there’s no reason to feel sorry for her. She is emotional and vulnerable but also strong and calculative. Tara's personality has depth and conflicts that most of us who have ever felt like we’re forever stuck on the outside looking in, can resonate with. She is a complicated character, but she feels like one of us, and that’s why we admire her so much.

All of us were mindblown when we saw Andhadun for the first time, the storyline was fresh, tight and just hit us right on the spot. Along with Ayushman's impeccable acting, what also made this movie a massive buzz is Simi's character. Although Simi's character has quite a few layers and most of them are not nice ones, she still managed to win our hearts, and we were shaken all through the course of the movie.

Anuradha's character is unbelievably strong, smart and sharp. She is one of the senior-most politicians and knows how to make way through the game of power. She grieves the loss of her partner Devki Nandan but also knows she needs to take charge before it gets too late.

Shonali is that one character kind of feels personal. The character of Shonali sure portrays one of the most powerful identities in Bollywood.
