Born as Anna Muttathupadathu, St. Alphonsa was the first Indian woman to be canonised as a saint by the Catholic Church. Considering her contributions to Christianity and humanity in general, her feast day is observed on 8th July every year. The place looks amazing during Christmas season and is a treat for the sore eyes!

2. Cathedral Church Of The Redemption

Tucked away in the bustling lanes of North Avenue, this is one of our fave quiet corners. With a history of nearly eight decades, this one’s quite popular amongst Delhiites!

3. Sacred Heart Cathedral Church

Archbishop Evangelist Vanni OFM Cap of Agra and Fr. Luke Vannucci OFM Cap. Archbishop Vanni were responsible for the foundation of the magnificent Sacred Heart Cathedral Church.
They’ll have special Christmas services beginning with a Holy Mass at 11 PM and carol singing at midnight on the 24th. The 25th will see a Malayalam mass at 7 AM, Hindi mass at 9:30 AM and the English mass at 11:30 AM. Make sure to attend them for an unparalleled Xmas experience!

4. St. Thomas Church

This church was constructed in 1972 after years of planning. The architecture of the church draws its inspiration from the rich heritage of the Mughal architecture that has adorned RK Puram since its foundation. The imposing yet sublime structure of the building is the major attraction. It witnesses a large footfall of enthusiastic church-goers and local residents on Christmas!

5. St. Stephen’s Church

St. Stephen's Church was built in 1862 by Anglican missionaries and DPW Engineers and is located on Church Mission Road. It has followed the Italian Gothic architecture and has the famous St. Stephen's College and St. Stephen's Hospital in its compound. This beauty is a vision in itself, add some lights & Christmas decorations and you won’t e able to take your eyes off it!
6. St. James’ Church
Commissioned by Colonel James Skinner and founded in 1836, St. James’ Church is located in Kashmiri Gate and is all things pretty. This one’s popularly known as the Skinner’s Church because while lying wounded on the battlefield, he took an oath to build a church to thank god, just in case he survived. On Christmas, the place is extremely well lit & decorated and we absolutely love it!
7. St. Mary’s Church

Constituted in 1976, St. Mary’s Church in Noida is a blessing for Noida Catholics because before this beauty came into being, these peeps had to travel to Mayur Vihar to attend masses. Located at a distance of 1 km from the Noida City Centre Metro Station, this one’s easy to reach. You better bring along your buddies here on Christmas because when lit up, this church is a magnificent sight!
