6-Coach Metro Trains Will Soon Become 8-Coach Trains For Red, Yellow & Blue Lines
If you’re a daily metro commuter, then you defo know the pain of never finding a seat and struggling your way through those overcrowded metro coaches, right? And seems like Delhi Metro feels it too and so has decided to convert the six coach trains into eight-coach trains, woohoo! Here’s everything you need to know!
Tacking On More Metro Coaches | Our beloved DMRC has planned to introduce more coaches to the six-coach trains and convert them into eight-coach trains, in order to facilitate commuters during rush hours, nice!
They’ve planned to obtain 156 coaches, of which 120 broad gauge coaches are required for the conversion on Red Line (Dilshad Garden), Blue Line (Vaishali - Dwarka/ Noida) and Yellow Line (Samaypur Badli - Huda City Centre). Also, 36 more coaches, i.e, six trains of six coaches each, will also be added for the extension of Airport Express Line to Exhibition-cum-Convention Centre, Dwarka.
While all the other lines will be a part of the extension plan, Pink and Magenta Lines will remain excluded because the services on both these lines are already operating on standard-gauge.
We hope this extension happens soon, DMRC!
