52 Select Monuments In Delhi Will Come To Life With Heritage Walks & Folk Dances Starting Feb
Neglected historical monuments will be brought back to life soon with this all new plan lined up by the authorities. The Delhi Government plans to promote and preserve these ancient structures as centres of arts and cultural heritage by hosting weekly walks and other sundry programs here! Nice.
Dishing The Full Deets | February onwards, the government hopes to improve the maintenance of 52 monuments in the city like Qudsia Bagh, Bhuli Bhatiyari Ka Mahal, Bawana Zail and Bade Lao Ka Gumbad and the like.
The State Archaeology Department (SAD) undertakes restoration of several ancient structures every year, but due to lack of proper mechanisms concerning their safety, the monuments are prone to wear and tear. Another reason for their deterioration is the lack of footfall at these monuments, which, in turn, leaves them vulnerable to vandalism.
And now finally a list of 52 monuments has been curated and it’s said that these will be restored with respect to wear and tear plus cultural programs and walks will be organised here in order to infuse new life!
The department recently decided to organise frequent cultural events, mushairas, exhibitions, kavi sammelans, dastangoi sessions, plays, folk dances and musical events at these historical buildings on Saturdays!
Good going Delhi Govt.!
