It's been more than a year since the COVID-19 pandemic took over the world and it has affected the entertainment industry just as badly. Movies that were supposed to be released way back have either been postponed, pushed back or cancelled indefinitely. But some movies have taken the world by storm, which are very much anticipated to be smashing hits once released, and might very well be on their way to, even after all the delays. 1. No Time To Die

Who can say no to a James Bond movie, especially the last one that’ll be starring Daniel Craig? Certainly not us! No Time To Die is the 25th instalment in the James Bond film series, which will explore the supposed retirement of the fictional MI6 agent, James Bond. But when he is approached by the CIA officer and friend Felix Leiter, will he be plunged back into the spy life? We absolutely cannot wait to find out!

2. Top Gun: Maverik 

Who’s ready to watch another action-packed thriller with Tom Cruise taking the lead role, but this time as a sequel to his hit 1980s film Top Gun? Top Gun: Maverik will be a reinvention of the old film but with a newer take on the role of drones in modern warfare and aviation. Tom Cruise reprises his role as Pete Mitchell, one of the Navy’s top aviators who will be seen training a new squad of graduates, to face dangerous missions in the field. So, what will happen when his past comes knocking on his doors again, demanding justice? We’ll just have to wait to find out!

Starring Robert Pattinson and directed by Matt Reeves, this adaptation of the famous comic books will be dark, gritty and hella entertaining. The movie will follow a younger Batman as he explores the corruption in Gotham City and faces a dangerous riddle-obsessed serial killer known as The Riddler! Yup, we can’t wait to watch this one!

The latest edition to the Fast & Furious franchise, we’re highly anticipating this ‘cause we’ll get to see both Vin Diesel and John Cena play against each other in this upcoming film. So when Dom's younger brother, a ruthless assassin, is set to kill Dom and his team, they must again join forces in fending him off. Well, this one’s going to be a blast, so who’s up for some crazy action sequences?!

Antlers is another horror movie that got delayed numerous times during this pandemic and is set to finally release in October. This supernatural horror movie takes place in a small Oregon town, where a small child might be concealing a mysterious creature that had escaped its confinement, and starts to wreak havoc in the town. A highly anticipated thriller for horror genre fans, this one promises to bring the creepiness metre to its very heights!

In this flick, we’ll see the ‘eternals’ who had been hiding for thousands of years, reunite to fight evil! Another superhero movie with a brilliant cast? Yes, please!

9. Cruella

We’ve all watched the Disney movie ‘101 Dalmatians’ when we were younger or at some point in our lives, and absolutely despised the villain Cruella De Vil in it. So, when we heard that the character was supposed to be played by the brilliant Emma Stone in this upcoming film that is supposed to release this month, we were definitely intrigued. A lot of fans are convinced that Emma Stone might bring out a new side of the much-hated villain and we’re all ready to get pleasantly surprised with this one!

Sooryavanshi starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif and directed by Rohit Shetty was a very anticipated movie since December last year but kept getting delayed due to the worsening situation. A 4th instalment in the cop universe created by Shetty, Akshay Kumar plays the role of an anti-terrorism squad chief in the police unit who joins forces with others to stop a batch of terrorists from planning an attack on Mumbai! Fans of the previous movies in the universe like Simmba and Singham are sure to love this movie.

12. Chehre 

Chehre is a mystery-thriller film starring Amitabh Bachchan, Emraan Hashmi, Rhea Chakraborty and more as lead characters. The film was expected to be released on 9th April but got postponed due to the surge in COVID cases and has been put on hold indefinitely. Amitabh Bachchan is said to be a lawyer while Hashmi is a business tycoon, with a penchant for solving real-life games! We’re keeping our fingers crossed for its early release!

13. Bunty Aur Babli 2

This film is said to be a sequel to the sequel of the 2005s blockbuster film, Bunty Aur Babli. The film was postponed due to the second wave of cases that hit the country and has been now postponed indefinitely. But, we can’t wait to see how the story unfolds in this new sequel that will give us a fresh perspective because of the huge gap between both movies!
