Okay, so this is basically for the pre-Holi prep. But for those of you who don’t step out during the festival, every year, we folks (well, most of us), who love to play Holi take a good hour or 2, lathering up ourselves with oil. Yep, it is believed that colours are easier to get off, and it acts as a barrier against harmful contents. So, we end up stocking on bottles of sweet-smelling coconut oil ‘cause let’s admit it, a family can easily end up finishing up 2 of these like it’s a child’s play!

A Holi party with your friends, even at the colony park or on the ground floor of the building, is practically incomplete without some good music. And no, we’re not talking about those trap music or dance numbers, we’re talking about legit Holi music. ‘Rang Barse’, ‘Balam Pichkari’ and ‘Do Me A Favour Let’s Play Holi’ HAVE to be played, and so we pretty much have a whole playlist of songs dedicated for this occasion. Ain’t no Holi party happenin’ without the kickass Holi playlist!

4. “Can’t Wait To Gorge On Gujiyas, Malpua, Mutton & More”

Though Choti Holi is generally celebrated with a bonfire relaying the story of the triumph of good over evil, as kids we often ended up getting drenched in water fights even on this day. Remember how we’d fill up our water balloons with clear water and then end up throwing it at each other in the evening when everyone came to the park for evening games? Yeah, well, we sorta haven’t grown out of it, and we still plan such water fights before Holi if we are all available.

6. “Please Let It Be A Bright Sunny Day On Holi?”

We don’t mind rain on Holi, it’s not bad, honestly, it’d complete the whole vibe, but what we do mind is the cool weather that generally tags along. So, those of us who love this festival and are eager to play Holi EVERY single year, pray endlessly for a good sunny day. After all, who’s want to end up shivering the whole time they’re out? Not us, for sure.

7. “Stocking Up On The Skin Care Products To Deal With the Festival Aftermath”

Those of you who love to play Holi know the annual drill. The whole washing up and getting rid of colours easily ends up with us being stuck in the shower scrubbing our skins dry. So, yes when we say we sometimes end up spending days pampering our skin and nursing it back to its glory, believe us. But clearly, this guilt-pamper routine is not enough because we end up back to square one next year. Again. *Sighs*

8. “Is It Too Late To Buy An Inflatable Pool To Fill Up With Coloured Water Like In Movies?”

This is a genuine concern, alright? And it’s not our fault. We blame it on all the movies and TV series that have these large inflatable tubs filled with coloured water where people take dive, making us want to experience the same at least once if not every time. And so, we often end up discussing the pros and cons of buying one every year. Do we need it? Maybe not. Do we want it? A hundo YES. Are we going to stop being in the same dilemma year after year - maybe not!

9. “Gonna Snap-up All The Embarrassing AF Pictures Of Our BFFs!”

One of the best parts of this festival is that we get to take revenge on our besties. We all have those friends who post those god awful images of us on our birthday on every single social media platform. And so, we make it a point to click some embarrassing AF pictures of them while they look like a smurf or maybe even a tomato. Because who wouldn’t love some crazy pictures to take ‘em down the memory lane?!

10. “A Reason To Get Trippy On Bhang Without Anyone Judging”

Bhang is one of the main highlights of this festival and people don’t even judge you for getting trippy at this festival. And so, what better way than to treat yourself to some bhang thandai, bhang ke pakore, bhang gujiya and the list endlessly goes on. So, yes, we definitely look forward to the festival and make sure to stock up on the yummy dishes and get that little buzz going!

So, yes, maybe it’s not the best thing to play Holi this year due to the ongoing pandemic, but hey, these thoughts certainly take us down the memory lane and well, we know for sure that when things get better, we’ll probably be thinking the same thing again!
